Dr. Andrew (Drew) Norris is our newest addition at Horizon! Dr. Norris grew up in Clayton and completed his undergraduate education at East Carolina University where he graduated with honors in biology and chemistry in 2012. He graduated from medical school at ECU’s Brody School of Medicine and then completed his residency in Family Medicine at East Carolina in June of 2019.
As a resident physician Dr. Norris also worked with Vidant Tarboro Immediate Care and Med First in Rocky Mount.
Throughout his years at ECU, Dr Norris was active in community service. He worked with the Stroke Awareness and Prevention Clinics in Tarboro and Rocky Mount and served as a leader in the Project Heart campaign tutoring college, elementary, and middle school students. He also participated in a medical mission trip to Haiti in 2013.
Dr. Norris is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advance Life Support, and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics. He has a special interest in preventative care for all ages.
Dr. Norris and his wife Katie Wakefield Norris have 3 children and live in Clayton. In his spare time, he loves photography, movies, and sports, especially, soccer, football, and softball. Dr. Norris is excited to begin seeing patients in the Horizon Clayton office in mid-July.
