Weekday Walk-in Appointments for Established Patients

To better meet patient needs, we now offer Acute Care walk-in visits weekdays for established patients at our Smithfield office. Smithfield takes walk-in appointments from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Our Clayton, Four Oaks, and Riverwood locations do NOT offer walk-in appointments at this time.

These appointments are for established patients who already see our providers for ACUTE illnesses and injuries only, not for chronic medical conditions, physicals or new patient visits. We hope this service will help patients get acute medical needs taken care of more quickly and easily, and we appreciate your cooperation in making this work.

How it works:

Established patients. This is for established patients who are actively cared for by our practice. We cannot accommodate new patients or family members of established patients during walk-in hours.

First Come-First Served during the specified service times. The earlier you arrive, the sooner you will be seen. If the walk-in service is particularly busy one day, you may experience a wait time. We hope to get you in and out quickly, though!

ONLY during specified times. We are only accepting walk-ins between 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Smithfield office. Patients who arrive after these times cannot be accommodated as a walk-in patient and will be scheduled for a visit at a future time. Patients who want to be seen later in the day, should call our office or request an appointment online as you normally do.

Acute care only. These appointments are for acute illnesses only: fever, “flulike symptoms,” stubbed your toe at 3:00 a.m., vomiting, etc.

You will be seen by the acute care provider. Not all providers offer acute care each day. If you want to be seen by your personal provider, please call or request an appointment online to schedule an appointment as you normally would.

These appointments are NOT for: chronic medical care, serious emergencies or prescription refills. We will schedule you for an appointment at an appropriate time if you walk-in for these type of appointments or call 9-1-1 for ambulance transfer to the emergency room if appropriate.

We hope that offering acute care walk-in appointments will make the disruptions caused by illnesses a little easier to manage and get you back to “regular life” more quickly!
