Dear Patients:
There is no greater priority than the safety of our patients and our staff. As the current situation surrounding Coronavirus continues to rapidly evolve, we want to share with you some the actions we have taken to ensure a safe environment at all our Horizon locations for our patients and staff.
TeleMedicine Is Now Available:
We are encouraging patients to utilize Telehealth visits with our providers. Telehealth allows patients to see their usual provider in the comfort and safety of their home using a computer, smartphone or similar device with a camera. It’s easy to do! Just call the office and our staff will help you set up an online video telehealth visit with your provider.
Horizon Family Medicine continues to monitor the rapidly evolving recommendations and guidance from the NC State Health Department; Infections Communicable Disease Department and the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
Triaging All Calls and Visits:
If you are experiencing any symptoms of Coronavirus (fever, cough, shortness of breath), please call us before coming to the practice so that we can determine the safest method to evaluate and treat you. Patients may be asked to wait for a call back while the provider determines the next steps regarding care and treatment. You may be asked to follow home care advice, schedule an outdoor curbside provider appointment, schedule a regular office visit, or we may refer you to the CDC hotline for further evaluation.
Disinfecting Our Clinic:
Horizon has always utilized hospital-grade disinfectants in our lobbies, exam rooms and nursing stations. We disinfect all surfaces multiple times per day.

Office Visits for Well Patients:
We continue to see routine office visits to care for our patients for follow ups and physical exams. We have taken extra care to designate a few exam rooms that are only used for “healthy” routine type visits.

Dr. Andrew (Drew) Norris is our newest addition at Horizon! Dr. Norris grew up in Clayton and completed his undergraduate education at East Carolina University where he graduated with honors in biology and chemistry in 2012. He graduated from medical school at ECU’s Brody School of Medicine and then completed his residency in Family Medicine at East Carolina in June of 2019.
